An architect by trade, with a background in urban planning and real estate finance, Ray has worked for design firms, planning agencies, policy consultancies, and real estate development and investment firms. Ray's multidisciplinary work and training in the fields of design, public policy and finance has allowed him to develop comprehensive experience in real estate development, investment, capital coordination, planning, and design across a breadth of project types and asset classes ranging from affordable housing to mixed-use retail developments, single-family developments, and luxury hotel projects.

Ray is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and has been an invited guest studio critic at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and the annual Gensler Design Awards.
